Crowd Dazzled by Dancers and Discovery Allies' First Russian Ball

Everyone enjoyed a rousing Russian soirée last weekend at the first inaugural Russian Ball benefitting Allies in Youth Development.

The evening atmosphere was elevated with masterful melodies made by Russian pianist Dzmitry Ulasiuk, who played a variety of difficult Russian classical numbers during dinner and other parts of the event. A gourmet dinner with a special Russian flair was followed by delicious delicacies for dessert. Russian professional dancers Natalja Sawal and Kylie Frandsen entertained the crowd throughout the evening with a number of exceptional ball steps.

Taya Kyle, widow of late U.S. Navy SEAL "American Sniper" Chris Kyle, spoke to the crowd about the battle of good and evil and what she witnessed during the events after her husband's death. Ms. Kyle is the author of the New York Times bestselling book “American Wife” and founder of the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation where she advocates for military and first responder families.

Ms. Kyle was followed up by Tarrant County Sheriff Bill Waybourn, who joined her on stage and discussed the problem of human trafficking, not only as a trap in Eastern Europe and Russia, but also right here in Tarrant county. Sheriff Waybourn shared that in just a little over a year, they have arrested around 120 human traffickers in Tarrant county.

The live auction was a big hit and featured various vacation packages to places like the Grand Caymans and Florida. The big bidders came out for the unique items – a genuine Star Wars Darth Vader helmet signed by the original cast of Star Wars and a guitar signed by the Eagles.
