What Makes AiYD Different?

Meeting financial and physical needs is and has always been a popular objective of nonprofit organizations working with children.

Allies aims to take things a few steps farther.

According to the US Department of State, Sex and Labor, human trafficking is a major problem in Russia and Eastern European countries, with no real plan to address the issue.

Allies wants to not only change the lives of these orphans, but also save their lives too.

Allies provides mentorship, education, training, and opportunities – especially in preparation for when they “age out” or leave the orphanage and are faced with life-threatening situations.

At the forefront of the effort are groups of in-country volunteers and regional leaders Allies trains and supports.

Allies uses distinct and proven methodology developed and reviewed by professional psychologists, university professors,

and other experts from across the globe as a foundation for long-term success.
The Allies Mentoring Program (AMP) and education that Allies provides includes pertinent information about the human trafficking industry, teaching the children how to avoid being caught in its dangerous web.

Our approach to human trafficking is preventative and has proven to be very successful in saving the lives of children.

Nastya

When Nastya was a young girl, she was left to care for her three younger sisters and one brother because their parents abandoned them. Their childhood quickly became very difficult as they were forced out on the streets. Sometimes, they had no place to sleep. Most times, they had no food to eat and young Nastya would have to find a way to feed her and her siblings.

Nastya and her siblings were eventually led to an orphanage. Though they now had a place to live and basic meals each day, it was far from being a home – they were still lacking many of the things you and I take for granted, like love, emotional connection, belonging, and guidance to name a few.

Today Nastya is a wife and mother who volunteers at orphanages with Allies because she has experienced firsthand the needs of children at the orphanage – children without families and homes. It was a turning point in her life to find people who would care for her and teach her right from wrong and how to succeed in life.

Nastya recognizes that without the help of her Allies mentors, her life would have gone in another direction, far from the healthy family and adult life she now leads.

Our hope and mission is to love, mentor, educate and inspire these young children, to lead them in a new, positive direction,

and keep them from the dangers lurking outside the orphanage walls – things like drugs, prostitution, and human trafficking. Our strategy involves training them early in their lives how to succeed, become productive citizens, and maintain healthy relationships.

We’ve seen many success stories like Nastya. We’re not only inspiring them, but they are inspiring us as we see them grow, succeed, and then give back to future generations of orphans.
