We are all God’s Children

Through our faith in Jesus Christ, we are all made His children. Guided by this truth, Allies reached out to a school orphanage in Ukraine to share the Good News of our Lord and model His all-encompassing love.

The school orphanage houses 50 to 70 underprivileged children who come from different backgrounds. Some are from low-income households, some from dysfunctional or incomplete families, and some from military-occupied territories. Some children also suffer from certain disorders, such as Down Syndrome, Autism and Cerebral Palsy, with one boy—prior to his arrival at the orphanage—only receiving care from his grandparents, both of whom are deaf. Another child, 16-year-old Viktor, is in the 4th grade and continues to show signs of delayed speech development associated with Down Syndrome. His mother had moved to a different city due to worsening socio-economic conditions.

“Many of them could not express their emotions,” one volunteer shared. “The children still met us in the hall during the gift-giving activity. We were grateful for the opportunity to prepare an event with a holiday-like atmosphere for them.”

Apart from the toys, Allies also distributed gifts from the Samaritan’s Purse, as well as fruits and sweets, which were all well-received and appreciated.

“We want to express our thanks to everyone who shared and collected all those gifts for children,” the volunteer said. “May God bless you and your families!”
