Thankfully, her loving grandmother took her in, providing the support she needed. Despite the hardships she faced, Maria's determination never wavered. Through relentless effort and dedication, she fulfilled her dream of becoming a nurse.

Grateful for the opportunities she had received, Maria decided to join Allies Youth Development as a volunteer. Her mission was clear: to encourage children to work hard in school and pursue their dreams, just as she had done. Maria believed that education was the key to a brighter future. Among the children Maria mentored was Moses, a young boy who lost his father at the age of eight. With his mother struggling as a local farmer, Moses saw his dreams of education slipping away. However, everything changed when he discovered Allies Youth Development. Selected to join secondary school, Moses felt a renewed sense of hope and determination. His dream of becoming a police officer and making a difference in his community began to feel achievable.

Maria and the Allies team organized a variety of sports events, including football, netball, and dance jingles. These activities were not only fun but also vital for the children's physical health. The day culminated in a surprise treat of gifts and a delicious meal for the children, while the volunteers enjoyed refreshing soft drinks and snacks. This kind gesture from Allies Youth Development left a lasting impact on everyone involved.
