A Special Visit to Lusaka, Zambia

In Lusaka, Zambia, something extraordinary happens when a group of passionate volunteers come together for the children. Among them was Mwila, a young man balancing the demands of his studies as a student nurse. Despite his busy schedule, Mwila made a special effort to be present, proving that dedication and compassion can shine through even the tightest timelines.

On this particular day, Mwila's contributions were pivotal. He went to Kamwala Market to procure much-needed supplies for the class, ensuring everything was ready for the children. His commitment didn't stop there—he personally delivered the items using a taxi, a small act that played a big role in keeping us on track. We were working against the clock to meet a critical deadline for our report, yet Mwila's initiative kept us moving forward.

For the children, seeing Mwila again was a moment of pure delight. His warm, kind demeanor made him a natural at connecting with the kids, and his presence reminded them that they were valued and cared for. Though the day faded into night and the light made clear photos impossible, a special moment stood out—a paper Christmas tree, carefully adorned with a star, created by Joseph, the group’s most jovial member.

Joseph, often the lighthearted spirit of the group, surprised us all with a heartfelt moment. As the day drew to a close, he shared his gratitude, saying, "I wish you could come every day, even on Christmas, to teach us and help us learn English."

His words struck a chord in each of our hearts. It was a reminder of the immense value of these gatherings—moments of learning, love, and connection that leave lasting impacts. To witness such positive behavioral changes in the children was a profound experience. It was a testament to the power of kindness, consistency, and the work being done through our programs.

This visit also brought an opportunity to reflect and give thanks. None of what we achieved would have been possible without the unwavering support of our donors and partners. Your generosity makes it possible to bring joy, hope, and learning to these children—children like Joseph, who now see a brighter future filled with opportunities.

Special thanks go to Madam Silvia, whose tireless efforts ensured everything was in place for the program’s success. Her guidance and supervision have been invaluable.

As Christmas approaches, we want to extend our warmest wishes to each of you. Thank you for believing in our mission and for standing alongside us as we work to transform lives.

May this season fill your hearts with joy, love, and peace. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. Together, let us continue to be a blessing, to make a difference, and to uplift every child who crosses our path.
