Bags of Hope and Hearts of Service

Location: Vietnam, Cambodia, Guatemala, and Peru

March was a meaningful month for Allies in Youth Development, as our global family came together to deliver tangible hope to vulnerable children across several countries.

In Vietnam, the YMCA group distributed 7 Allies Bags of Hope, providing essential support to children at local AMP centers. These bags, filled with hygiene items, school supplies, and more, are not just gifts—they're reminders that someone cares. And we’re not stopping there. In just a few days, 3 more bags are scheduled to reach children in Cambodia.

Meanwhile, in Guatemala, team members Tatiana and Daniel personally delivered 3 Bags of Hope to the communities of Amatitlán and Las Limas. These deliveries were part of a broader effort to support and strengthen local AMP programs. During their visit, Tatiana and Lizbeth met with children, provided shoes and humanitarian aid, and equipped local leaders and volunteers with tools to deepen their impact.

Following a three-month summer break, our Latin America Director, Lizbeth, hosted a special reunion in Cusco, Peru, to reenergize and encourage our AMP leaders. At Allies, we know that the heart of our work lies not only in the children we serve—but also in the dedicated hands of the mentors and volunteers who show up month after month.

During this gathering, Lizbeth led a creative workshop that invited each leader to paint a canvas and add words or verses that give them strength during difficult times. Some chose favorite Bible passages, others wrote words of encouragement or hope. These handcrafted artworks now hang in their homes as daily reminders of their calling and the God who sustains them.

Through every visit, delivery, and gathering, one message continues to ring clear: Hope travels far when it's carried by love.

Because of your continued support, Allies in Youth Development can continue delivering hope, strengthening leaders, and transforming lives—one child, one bag, and one heart at a time.
