March was a month of meaningful lessons, new beginnings in several countries, and powerful moments that touched the hearts of children and volunteers alike.
Last month’s lesson, “Intellectual Development and Creativity,” invited children to explore the world of innovation and invention. They learned about life-changing discoveries like Edison’s light bulb, Bell’s telephone, the Wright brothers’ airplane, and the internet. Children were encouraged to reflect on how these inventions impact their daily lives—and even dream up new ideas of their own.
The lesson was delivered across 41 countries and 77 regions, awakening curiosity, confidence, and creativity in thousands of young hearts.
Stories from the Field: Tanzania
Thabiti, age 10
A fifth grader with big dreams of becoming an engineer, Thabiti surprised his mentors by building a model house from cardboard after learning about famous inventors. Inspired and self-motivated, he gathered materials on his own and proudly shared his finished project. His enthusiasm sparked creativity in his peers and reminded us of the hidden potential these sessions help unlock.
Shaban, age 14
Usually quiet and reserved, Shaban opened up during the "Great Inventors" lesson, sharing his dream of becoming an architect. Orphaned at a young age and living in poverty, Shaban found in AMP a place where his talents were seen and nurtured. That day, he sketched a building from his imagination and said for the first time, “I believe I can do this.”
