Faith and Perseverance in Caimancito, Venezuela

Every Sunday afternoon in Caimancito, children gather for songs, prayer, and lessons from the Bible. Recently, they learned about the Ten Commandments, focusing on the importance of honesty. Through a short play and the story of Zacchaeus, they saw how choosing what is right brings peace. Many children openly admitted times they had taken what was not theirs and prayed for forgiveness. It was a moving reminder of how young hearts can change when given space to reflect and share.

Amanda, a 43-year-old volunteer, has been part of this journey each week. She prepares meals and watches over the children with care. Not long ago, her life looked very different. She often fought, spoke harshly, and felt an emptiness she could not explain. When pastors visited her family and introduced her to the Bible, she slowly found a new way of living. She now feels called to guide children in learning about God’s love, offering them the support she once longed for herself.

Among the children is Jose Daniel, a 10-year-old boy, who was in a serious accident last year. His family could not afford the surgery he needed for his leg, leaving him discouraged. Still, he came faithfully to church praying for help. At first his mother resisted, even forbidding him to attend, but Jose Daniel’s faith touched her heart. She has since joined him at church and found her own faith in God. Now, after months of waiting, Jose Daniel is scheduled for surgery next month, a step forward made possible through prayer and perseverance.

Stories like this remind us that time invested in children always bears fruit. We are grateful for those who help make these gatherings possible in Venezuela, giving children and families like Jose Daniel’s hope for healing and new beginnings.
