New Growth at Isilkul Orphanage
August 26, 2016
A group of Allies volunteers recently went to an orphanage in Isilkul (Omsk region) to discuss the tutoring project and plans for the future, especially for the guys who became university students (Sasha, Oraz and Masha) and the guys who are going to take distance classes this year (Arthur, Zhenya and Alyosha). The volunteers discussed many things with the kids, such as the kids' future, money and time management. Most of the kids have some amount of money saved. When they turn 18 they will be allowed to use it at their discretion. The group also discussed ways of saying ‘no’ politely if you don’t want to lend money to a friend. The students were given perspective on how much their studies matter and how to value their time.
