The Power of Responsibility

This month the Christ Evergreen Kids of Lomé, Togo, gathered for a powerful lesson on The Power of Responsibility, and the results were truly heartening. The children eagerly engaged with the session—asking questions, participating in group discussions, and sharing thoughtful insights. Their responses demonstrated a deep understanding of how personal responsibility shapes their choices at home, in school, and throughout their communities. The session concluded with a joyful treat of chocolate bread and mineral drinks, a small celebration of the growth we witnessed.

One volunteer, Atsu Esi, shared how previous Allies lessons helped her take initiative during a recent visit to her elderly uncle in the village. She rose early each morning to tidy the home, assist with chores, and care for the space—an effort that deeply moved her family. Atsu encouraged the children to put their lessons into action, reminding them that responsibility isn’t just learned, it’s lived out through small, daily acts of care and integrity.

Twelve-year-old Afanou Abla also spoke during the session, offering an inspiring testimony. A student from Tsevie-Agbakorpe, she explained how setting and following household rules has helped her grow in maturity and purpose. Abla now views responsibility as a stepping stone toward achieving her goals and creating a better future. She proudly committed to becoming a positive influence—both spiritually and physically—in her environment. "If not for Allies," she said, "where would all this knowledge have come from?"

Thanks to the continued support of our donors, these children are not only learning—they're transforming. One lesson at a time, they're becoming leaders of character, compassion, and purpose.
